Summer may be just around the corner, but it isn’t too late for a spring car AC check here at Ideal Automotive. We’d be happy to inspect your vehicle’s air conditioning system to make sure you can count on it once the mercury rises. Below, are just some of the things that are included in our air conditioner inspection in Blaine. Give us a call today to schedule an appointment for your car, truck, or SUV.
Compressor Test
Obviously, there is no need to run your air conditioner throughout the winter. Unfortunately, failure to run the air conditioner can actually damage the compressor. The compressor works better when it is working all the time. As such, we will test the compressor to make sure it is not malfunctioning. You need this part to compress the refrigerant and circulate it.
Condenser Check
How the condenser operates is what actually damages it. It is located directly behind the grille so it can draw outside air through it to cool off the refrigerant. Unfortunately, this location opens it up to getting clogged by road dirt and debris. If the debris is large enough, it can also damage it. We will inspect the condenser thoroughly to make sure that it is not damaged or clogged.
Condenser Fan Test
The condenser also uses a fan in its refrigerant cooling efforts. The fan can also be damaged by road debris. As such, we will look closely at the fan to make sure it has not been dented or otherwise damaged. We will also test the fan to make sure it turns on every time the condenser needs it to cool off the refrigerant. You don’t want hot refrigerant circulating through the system.
Electrical Inspection
From the switch that you press on your dashboard to turn on the air conditioner to the various parts that make up the system, your car’s air conditioner relies on the electrical system to power it. We will inspect your vehicle’s electrical system to make sure nothing needs to be replaced. For example, if you have a blown fuse or frayed wire, we will replace them.
Refrigerant Check
Finally, the system needs plenty of refrigerant in it to cool off the air flowing into your automobile’s cabin. We will check the refrigerant level to make sure it does not need to be topped off.
